You still have time to take a couple of tests:

The beginning of the year has been extremely hectic with work...and every chance I've had to take the test, I've had to work..including all of the remaining weekends.  Oh well...I'm good being part of the "cool kids" group with CB's... lol

Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanies (AFDB) have a long history on SCCX.  In fact, at one time I thought they were a part of the suggested gear list for Xcursions, or at least those to certain areas.  Certainly a prudent thing to keep on board at all times, just in case.  If this link to a search works you can see some of that.  I searched the site for "AFDB".

Confirmed. Thank you Danny. My better half is undecided at this point, she isn't keen on tenting for 2/3 nights.
This will be my first desert camping trip - looking forward to it! I'll check out the food thread to see who needs help and what supplies I should bring
See everybody in 3 weeks - Ben (and possibly Kailey)

Well guys, bad news. The dealership just got ahold of me. They were replacing the clutch and flywheel to get rid of this noise I have been hearing very intermittently, but they just called and said they ran into a few setbacks. First, there is a new noise inside the tranny now, so they are taking it apart right now. Then there is some sort of cooling pipe that runs around the passenger side of the engine. They hit it with something and are replacing that and the hose Parts should be here Friday they hope.

There is no way I can break in a new clutch, re assemble the stuff on the truck (had to remove all the skid plates for them to access the drivetrain, remove the CB and stuff on the center console to be able to remove it, and the RTT to fit the rack. And have time to test everything out. I am going to have to back out of this trip.

Toro, I have a PM coming inbound to you in just a moment. But wanted to apologize for missing this opportunity to do this trail run. It has been on my list for a while. Sorry.

I'm going to look to replicate Sage Bromax's radio communications plan when I can actually get on a computer that allows me to use RepeaterBook.com.  Sage's looks good, but when I bumped some of the repeaters he listed from the Winter Trip, they didn't seem to be open.  I'll upload a map pulled from Repeater Book and I'll upload the file as it's exported to Excel, so all of the information is included.  If someone is working on this, please let me know so we're not duplicating effort.

Can you laminate the com plan and include it on the back of everyone's nametags?  ;)

In all seriousness though, thanks for taking the initiative to work on this. A solid comms plan is the key to being able to get help in the event of an emergency (heaven forbid). Who wants to be thumbing through an ARRL repeater directory with a bunch of peaks and locations you've never heard of when we have someone on the trail that is suffering from a snake bite and we're trying to summon emergency medical help?
