I'm going to look to replicate Sage Bromax's radio communications plan when I can actually get on a computer that allows me to use RepeaterBook.com.  Sage's looks good, but when I bumped some of the repeaters he listed from the Winter Trip, they didn't seem to be open.  I'll upload a map pulled from Repeater Book and I'll upload the file as it's exported to Excel, so all of the information is included.  If someone is working on this, please let me know so we're not duplicating effort.

Rick, that's pretty cool of you to do this for us. Nevermind Joe and me bantering back and forth it has nothing to do with what you are doing and it's appreciated for the guys who don't already have this info pre-plotted into their radios. Maybe you can make a suggestion in the comms section for the BOD's to adopt standard secondary and maybe third simplex channels or start up a thread to include common solid repeaters in a lot of the areas we as a group frequent like Anza Borrego, Big Bear, Johnson Valley, Death Valley etc. etc....

  Great job!

In all seriousness though, thanks for taking the initiative to work on this. A solid comms plan is the key to being able to get help in the event of an emergency (heaven forbid). Who wants to be thumbing through an ARRL repeater directory with a bunch of peaks and locations you've never heard of when we have someone on the trail that is suffering from a snake bite and we're trying to summon emergency medical help?
You mean kinda like CHaynes tries to do on all of his trips?  haha

It's no problem at all.  It's a fairly simple thing to do with a website like RepeaterBook.  I'm also glad you mentioned making a standard comms plan for the other common areas because that's something I've also looked at doing.  We all usually do the same things, so there should be no reason to re-invent the wheel each time.  Also, many of our radios have the capability to program banks, so we could easily keep each bank programmed with the repeaters for each area.  I'll just need to find some time, this weekend is going to be a project weekend, alignment, rear lighting, coil bucket trimming, and the run on Sunday, but I should have something together in time for everyone to have their radio programmed before the trip.

Awesome, I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated amongst the HAM masses at large! and you won't even have to make name tags....................     >:D
