Anyone want to do a quick trail run?
« on: November 23, 2015, 10:20:43 AM »
Right now I'm just running a home business, so my boss lets me do what I want ;)

I'm curious to check out some easier local stuff. I have Kelly Safari AT tires, which are nothing special, and that's about it.

Was thinking about checking out Cleghorn, or maybe Santiago, or even some more local stuff around Murrieta/Elsinore area.

Anyone who wants to show me the ropes, I'm available most days. Let me know what works!

This week is tough with Thanksgiving coming up but I'm good from next week on, during the week.

Doesn't have to be this week either. Anytime between now and the new year, would be awesome.

After the new year, I'll likely be joining the corporate world again, but we'll see what the future holds.

So from now until the end of the year, ready to roll most days with a heads up. See you guys on the trail!

This week is tough with Thanksgiving coming up but I'm good from next week on, during the week.

I've been looking for some help finding the "back way" through De Luz and up into the Cleveland National Forest, Mr. Duffman. Maybe we can put together a run up those roads you guys took in the past (the trip where xxSVxx had the wheel-mishap). Those should make for some fun wheeling in a mostly stock rig. And if we end at the Wildomar OHV park, we can mess around on the trails there too for anyone who wants to flex their mods a little.

I can usually sneak a Tuesday or Wednesday off if I know about it at least a week in advance. :)

Geoff - there's some fun exploring to be had in the hills north of Canyon Lake, on either side of the river. Not sure if you're closer to the north gate or the east gate, but from the north gate, you can head back into the hills from Meadowbrook and from the east gate, you can get back there through Quail Valley. Might be a little rough in a stock rig though, you could end up beating it up a little without any lift or at least rock sliders. Could be a fun place to go explore one day though, and it's right in your back yard. I'd head out there with you if we did it on a day when I'm free.

No problem Joe.  We can even make that a short Saturday run if that is easier.  We can start in Fallrook and end up in your and Geoff's back yard.  We will have to limit the run to 37 trucks though 8)

I've always wondered the legality of cruising that stuff, but I may just have to go back there, especially if I can sneak some rods in the X. Will gladly take some people fishing back there after some exploring.

That sounds like some fun!

I know of a great spot on the Quail Valley side that's 100% legal to access and has lots of shoreline access. It's kind of a hangout spot for dirtbags (it is Quail Valley, after all!) sometimes, but we'll be fine if we just don't make eye contact.  :D

Again, it's a bit rough with some really deep ruts and rocky patches, so it could be a bit rough in a stock rig. I know the rig is capable of making it, just not sure your comfort level with getting a scratch or a ding. Let me know! :)

OK, OK, let's do the Fallbrook to Hell's Kitchen secret trail!  Joe, you pick the day, Friday or Saturday, and I will lead.
