Hello from San Diego
« on: December 11, 2015, 11:18:00 AM »
Hi everyone, I purchased a 06 Xterra in August, my first 4x4.  (spent a lot of time as co-pilot in a friends Jeep)  I have since spent many nights and weekends doing maintenance and mods.  Started by immediately doing the SMOD bypass and changing almost all fluids.  I did a couple of junkyard runs for odds and ends like a hitch and a 5th wheel since I needed new tires and wanted to rotate with the spare.  I have removed the running boards, mud flaps and have done the melt mod and moved up to 33" MT tires and added sliders.  Swapped the front shocks to 5100s with some lift and did a double add a leaf in the rear with a set of airbags as I want to tow in the future.  The plastics were pretty faded so I did blackout on most all including the wheels and roof rack.  I have several projects on the wish list including a light bar, awning, timing chain guide replacement, seat covers, roof rack mods, navigation tablet mount, skid plates.

I did my first trip in the Xterra in early Oct. to Coyote Flats and had a great time.  Looking forward to many more trips and I dream of White Rim Trail and Black Bear Road trips.

Welcome from the Murrieta/Temecula area!  :D Hope to see you at the food truck meet up on Thursday. If you're not busy tomorrow (Saturday), maybe you'd be interested in making the trip up to Fallbrook to the mod day as well. Bring a project , or even without a project, it'll be a fun time for sure.
