How can I contribute, guys?!

How about, you bring some pit-stop snacks?  We happen to stop a bit, and, for me anyway, I'd like to just grab something and shove it down while we're taking pictures or checking stuff out, etc.

I always want to bring stuff like that, but I never remember to....so I end up not eating anything except our designated meal stops....which leaves me a little hangry at times

Something along the lines of maybe those big bags of individual bags of chips....like that?  Would you be comfortable doing that?

Good idea Christaan; my go to trail snack are the PB&J uncrustables because they're great a most temprarures, and chips are also easy to break out and distribute.

I also like the snack packs of nuts/trail mixes you can get from Trader Joe's.  They're the perfect size for a snack.

Anyone who doesn't know how to contribute, send me $20 for Carne Carne asada and I'll haul it in.

Yeah, and I was thinking about this last night, and granola bars are yummy and handy....and we could even look at things like carrot sticks and apple slices, since Steve has a fridge

I think that would be amazing to have as a treat while we let others catch up, or take a few pictures, etc!!!

If I end up bringing snacks, which is probably a good idea, they will be non-perishable items.  Granola bars, etc.

I do have a fridge, but space is limited in the 43qt.  If I end up picking up the 63qt by the trip, then maybe I can haul beer and carrots or whatever.

BTW, you guys should buy your own edgestar fridges.  Openboxdirect has them fairly regularly for pretty cheap.  Way cheaper than the ARB ones.

Well in that case, we'll only need one large pack of bacon. PainRoller - do you just want to split the cost of a single pack with me then? I'll wait until the Saturday night meal is decided upon and offer to chip in something for that night as well, since half a pack of bacon isn't much of a contribution.  :-\

Anyone who doesn't know how to contribute, send me $20 for Carne Carne asada and I'll haul it in.

Joe, If you still want to bring bacon, we are down with chipping in $20 for more Carne...... :D

And we can help cook, prep, whatever.... O0

Ok, so I'll still bring the bacon, and my 38" camp chef 3-burner and 38" griddle for the bacon (and a propane tank to run it).

Looks like were going to have more people going since the permit was approved for 20 vehicles. That might be near 40 people so some adjustments in food may be called for. I was thinking I would make my stew on the second night and spoke with Jayrat and he's in as well. My Dutch oven will make enough for about 8 with hearty servings. I'm thinking some thorough planning will need to be going into the meals with a lot of volunteers for things like getting a fire going, helping setup and clean up so the camp chefs don't get their backsides handed to them.

I can double my original contribution of 3lbs of carne asada to 6. Also, since I won't be cooking,  I'll help make fire and clean up after.
