Coffee, I can't live without it.  When it comes to camping, instant does just fine for me.  I have a backpacking stove I'm going to use for coffee in the mornings, but I was only planning on making enough for the wife and myself.  That little stove can boil water in about 2.5 minutes or less, so I can provide hot water for the masses.  However, I don't have anything for actual brewing, I was just planning on instant coffee.

edit:  What I meant to say was if someone has a percolator or a method of boiling large amounts of water, I can provide the flame and fuel.  If no one really has the capability to percolate, I can get a larger can of instant coffee and provide that, along with hot water from the kettle that's in my cooking kit.

I have a percolator that I use for boiling water...lost the percolating stuff a long time ago.  I also am just fine with instant, which I planned on bringing.

I just realized I have a press that I'm going to bring; I have ZERO idea how to use it...but a little taco told me it makes good coffee!!!

The best coffee I've ever had was brewed in a siphon coffee maker, the second best was made in a press.  Long story, short, presses make dang good brew.

I have zero idea how to use it, but it seems like a pretty simple process; I'm going to bring a small can of grounds, and some cream, and learn on the fly!!!

I will bring my BBQ attachment for my camp chef grill. The cooking surface is 16" deep x 24" wide x 8" tall, which should be good for a few tri-tips. My only concern would be making sure the lid will close, but I suppose we can cut the tri tips down if we have to.

Also, propane might be a concern. I'm only bring a 10lb tank, and I'm not even sure how full it is (I think we used 1/4 - 1/2 of it in Death Valley). I'm confident there's enough to cook the 8 lbs of bacon on Saturday morning, but cooking three large tri-tips could use a lot of propane and I'm not confident that there's enough in that tank for both tasks. Will there be some back-up propane just in case?

Thanks for the help Joe; are you referring to the white propane tanks?  Can someone else step up and bring one as back-up?

Yes, it uses full-size propane tanks. So a 10 lb or a standard 20 lb bbq tank would work. I have a couple 20 lb tanks at home, but I simply won't have the room for one by the time I bring the grill, griddle and bbq attachment, plus my camping gear.

I have an adapter to use the small green cans in an emergency, but this grill is a beast and can really go through propane if being used to capacity. I only got about 8 mins of use from all three burners on a brand new full green can. Depending on how long those tri-tips need to cook and how hot, someone would have to be swapping out green cans quite a few times. :)

I'll search for a place around my house where I can top off my 10 lb tank too. The feed store I use has changed their policy and charges a 5 gallon minimum now. That sucks when you need to top off a 2.5 gallon tank that's less than half empty.
