Hello from Huntington
« on: December 22, 2015, 05:21:04 PM »
Hey Folks,

Was just doing an intro on thenewx.org and someone mention SCCX. Very happy to see a good active group close to me! I will definitely be showing my face at some events especially the trail and mod days. I got my '06 off road with the intent of building it into an overland rig.

It came with PRG 2.0 radflo coil overs, upper control arms and 2" spacers in front and their 2.5" AAL in the rear, and some other minor upgrades. I'm looking forward to doing as much work on it as possible. So I'll be at every mod day I can.

Once I get it home the plan of action is to get it tuned as it runs a little rough at idle and will probably have all fluids replaced front to rear so I know where I stand with it. Then I'm thinking a better set of skid plates, rock sliders, and rear bumper with all the extras (tire carrier, hi lift jack, shovel, extra gas)

Super excited I finally found an Xterra and glad it has such a good following!!!

Curious what the edict is for mods days & how they work? Just show up introduce yourself, talk shop & maybe someone helps you do a little work? What's a guy need to do to prep for this besides bring a variety of six packs?

That's pretty much it. The post will go up, everyone on the site is invited. There is also a guy that works for Chipotle and Dos Equis if you're willing to drive to Pasadena and The Shop in Pomona is an option for us to work on stuff too.

Yea, another OC person!

Welcome from Orange.  Be careful of the mod bug.  I started with a similar set-up and now my X looks like it's on steroids and I want more. >:D
Be careful when you follow the masses..... sometimes the "M" is silent.

Oh I'm already coming up with BS reasons to justify getting all the things I want!! But I expect it to take a year or two for me to sort everything out. Any good places to go use the 4 wheel drive in OC?

What type of work does the guy in Pasadena do? I'm looking for someone to change all the fluids and do a tune up once I get it back to SOCAL. More than willing to drive for a trustworthy guy especially if I get to help.

Right now he's fitting the new RuggedRocks 180amp alternator to his rig. Other than that, he's a bit of a turd.
