Were just shy of 5 months out for this trip. I'm thinking it will be as much of a blast as it was last year. I wanted to get some discussion going for everyone attending. My thoughts are much the same as last year. Bring everything you need to be self sufficient for the trip. Think about 10 gallons of extra fuel, especially for delays. If you want to have group meals which is popular with this group plan them prior to heading out with your buddies. With winter conditions it's not always going to be the best of conditions to feed the masses which is why I stress self sufficiency. That being said I will do everything I can to get us to our camp a couple hours before sunset so please understand if I ask that we get moving. If your vehicle is in need of repairs please get them taken care of before we head out. There is a lot of great experience on this trip but I'd rather not have breakdowns due to improper maintenance. If something does happen you won't be left out there, I'm just asking for a little preventative maintenance. The whole trip isn't very grueling or taxing on vehicles but going into it be prepared with what you might need as we will be not so close to assistance is good. Think lots of extra warm stuff, wool, water barriers, extra tent stakes and guy lines to secure everything in adverse weather. I would like to have a campfire each night and Fire Jenga is always welcomed, so bring wood and lots of it. If you are warming your backside by the fire but didn't contribute to the firewood pile, well you know the drill. If you would like to take some alternate routes, I'm all ears. This trip is very flexible and the focus is on enjoyment so give me your ideas to see what we can come up with. Most of us have wheeled and camped together sharing a lot of laughs. If you are new to the group or this run know that you are most welcomed and everyone will do what they can to ensure you have a great time and complete the trip safely. I'm really looking forward to this so fire away with any questions or comments you may have to myself or Sage Bromax (Red Team Leader) to make this another memorable trip with SCCX.
