I'm still in for Afton to Laughlin, 8)
but I'm going to have to back out of the return trip
I don't work enough to take all the time off sorry :'(

No worries Jay, I completely understand. Just one idea comes to mind though. If you have your customers pay in US dollars Vs. Canadian wouldn't you make more?

I would recommend more..I remember how much we would have liked to have a fire in the morning of the 2nd camp in the mountains.  I will volunteer to bring 3 bundles for the trip, one of them being dedicated for 2nd camp morning.

I'll bring 3 bundles to

I just got the info for the rooms, I will send out a mass PM for everyone that's going with the link and the info to reserve your respective rooms so be looking for that. You have until 01.02.17 to complete the reservation, after that you aren't guaranteed a room or the rate. Make sure when you click on the link or call them you are clear about "SCCX" the date 01.15.16 and the code I'm going to get out to everyone. Should you have any issues or questions feel free to call, PM, 2M radio contact or send smoke signals to me and I'll do my best to help out. I'm really looking forward to the trip and think it's going to be as much fun as last years run.

Thanks Spencer...We've upgraded our camping gear and radio equipment since the last year.  Much appreciated!

Does anyone in this scallywag crew not have front and rear recovery points? I want to try and get a grasp on any potential hang ups and try to stagger people appropriately. We have some 2WD folks going which I think is 100% AWESOME. Since I haven't had a response back yet from anyone about camping spots, I'm planning on the same ones we used last year. Jackass Canyon (Aptly named) is a great back up place if we run into issues in the lake bed. Anyone hear of recent activity out there? I know the rain has been going through but with a little sunshine that stuff tightens right up. No we won't need life preservers for the river crossing, you will be fine, it's a solid base and barring torrential downpour everyone will get through it just fine. I'm really looking forward to a winter crossing of that place but want to make sure everyone is ok with the trouble spots there. If you think about it bring a rock for Travelers Monument, autograph it too. Bring a Frog for the Mailbox and a few pennies for the cheap guys, quarters for the big spenders! to drop into the penny can. Mebbe a SCCX sticker on those cans might be a good idea if someone has a spare?

Road was good two weekends ago. Recent rain might make the lakebed a bit messy. The key is stay on hard pack keep momentum and watch out for the two ditch 1/2 from the rock pile to the other side.

I think someone posted the water crossing water level link in the past. Might be a good idea to check that before take off.

I have done the lakebed during heavy rain before. The good thing is no dust. The bad thing is you will never get all the mud off. Your mileage goes way down because after the crossing you are carrying hundreds of pound of mud.
