Your job is pretty awesome too Rick. I miss kind of miss turning wrenches on aircraft. I used to be an airframer on hueys and cobras in the Marine Corpse Reserves.

Nice thread Geoff. A lot of us have cool jobs.

Sorry, I didn't see this earlier.  I live wrenching, I didn't know you had served. Thanks for your service.
Figured I'd bump this up, just got hired full time at ORW Temecula for shipping and receiving to start.

Come down and say what's up!
We know who we'll be talking to for off-road supplies.

I've been a little hesitant to post on this topic, but I figured, what the hell.  I've been catching S^#t for years for what I do.

Hi my name is Tim and I am an Interior Designer.  I am straight and proud of it. :D

I am also one of the oldest people working on my Architectural registration.

Congrats!  Let me know if you bump into/hear of Wally Palmer...he was the GM of the Escondido/San Marcos location for a long time.  Good dude, and his dad was the original owner of ORW.  You work in a veritable candy store sir... :D

Congrats! I had my fingers crossed for you, so I'll go ahead and uncross them now. I'll be down there to visit you for sure at some point. :)

. . .  I plan to become either teacher/professor at a community college or university, or an actuary within insurance.

Alex, if you decide to go the Actuary route with an insurance company, it might be helpful for you to know the difference between an American actuary and a Sicilian actuary.

An American actuary can tell you how many people will die in the next year. A Sicilian actuary can tell you their names.

(My father emigrated to the US from Sicily, so that is how I know this.)

I'm a pixel pusher, doing web design for a large full service advertising agency that does work for a major automotive brand. In 04-09 I worked for an agency that did all of Nissan's web and print stuff, we also did Subaru and Infiniti.

And just like that, it's already over :'(

Got an amazing job offer from my previous employer after getting an apology from the district manager, too good to pass up. In the week I was at ORW, those dudes are cool!! Bummed it didn't work out, but this new offer is much better for me and my family.

Back to PetSmart I go.

That's awesome! I have family that flies, two cousins in the air force academy. My cousin Mike is getting deployed to Milano, Italy in a month!

That's pretty awesome. Just remember, pilots have to have heroes too....crew chiefs.

My first job was working on airplanes and overhauling aircraft propeller governors. I was lucky to have a salty AI who taught me what airworthiness is and how to make sure the job is done right the first time. :)

I'm a walking safe for the Marine Corps well when I was deployed in 2014, doing payments and contracts. Now a days I'm chilling behind a desk making sure everyone west of the mississipi gets paid correctly till they get the boot out. Besides working on Marines cars for small repairs/ tune ups for a small fee

I haven't worked on those yet, but I'm sure I'll end up there soon. So far most of my job assignments have been out of state.
