Help me choose new wheels from the Level 8 Pro series - Poll
« on: February 28, 2016, 09:28:29 AM »
After 6 years of running stock on my 2010 Black Xterra, I finally got a 2.5" PRG lift and 285/75/16's on factory rims.

It's time for new wheels and after a few months of searching, i'm going to pull the trigger.

I've narrowed it down to two choices - level 8 bully pro's and level 8 tracker pro's.

Every friend i've asked has voted one or the other, like a coin toss. Everyone has come to the conclusion that "you couldn't go wrong with either" but i'm here to ask the X-perts for an opinion. Help me choose between these two - Bully Pro (Left) or Tracker Pro (Right):

Like you said, you really can't go wrong with EITHER set. I have also narrowed my wheel options down to these two sets. I had originally told myself I liked the look of the of the Tracker Pro, but after seeing photos of them on Xterras, my vote is for the Bully.

I'd vote the Bully set, just by preference, I'm more of a fan of the straight spokes.

This is exactly my thought as well; however, unlike you I could only find one xterra picture for each rim type (The pics used above). Lizardking on thenewx has many pictures that show angles so it gives me a better idea of how Bully Pro's will look on an X. The blue xterra above is the only one i've found with the Tracker pro. I was hoping to find more angles or a video on youtube with movement to help me decide but no dice.

Thanks for the input.

IMHO, The Bully pro's (spoked) are the clear winners here. The other set kinda reminds me of when people take the plastic hub cap/mock rim thing off the car and leave a black unfinished wheel exposed, does not look bad and is a cheap way to give yourself the black out rim look. That being said I am not experienced in wheels and that may not be the case at all to someone who knows what the hell they are talking about.

Hey easy on the 8 hole.  I'm running the MT version on mine and I think they look pretty tough.

Dated, right!  Just drive out to your Temeluca Off-road thing and what do you see on every Dbag bro-dozer?  SPOKES! ;)

What do you see on every old jeep or domestic?  Round holes in the wheels.

haha, not hating, just a preference thing. I will say that when you can see the daylight out the other end the do look quite nice and with your configuration with the white ring they look sharp.
Red ring and angle of that other shot did not do them any justice. Still prefer the spokes but I do like both.

Also I did say they only remind me of the look, they are obviously of a much higher quality and and wrapped with a big gnarly tire they would never be mistaken for the a stock black steel wheel.

Man, those do look sharp Tim. I forgot what they looked like in person. I've always been a bigger fan of the classic look, but I agree that the shot on the Xterra above (with the red painted rash ring) is not flattering.

I might be changing my opinion a little here and going more for the hole look. But it just takes me back to my original statement that you really can't go wrong with either set. I wonder if there's a significant weight difference with the spokes instead of the solid material with holes?

I don't think the Tracker Pros look right without giant tires, ie. like Woody's truck.  I don't like either one of them with the fake rings.  I think the Xterra with the red trim would've looked far better with it removed or painted a different color.  My vote is for the Bully's.
