By not having a radio when you show up nobody is going to take your ticket and send you home. You will just miss out on a bunch of trash talking. On the bigger multi day runs communication gets more important because people can get spread out for several miles and with that the CB's don't generally work very well anyway.

I second what Celt said, comms are good, but on a run like this you don't necessarily need a radio. We'll stick you in the middle of the group and you'll be good.

Looks like I won't be able to attend.

I am bum. It's going to rain and the trail will be extra fun.

Apologize to sound like a total noob.
where exactly is the meet point? as stated before there is a good chance of me not going but I want to take the reason of the doubt and prepare in case i can swing by and try it.

as far as my understanding from researching abit, i got this location. Coord: 34.299002, -117.457607 as the beginning of the trail.

Cleghorn Road April 10

That's where we usually meet if there is a large group.

Well, weather.com says there is still a 50% chance of rain on Sunday. They did take the thunder storm symbol off, so I am planning on hitting the trail as planned.  Who's with me?

I am also in but do have concern with my 2wd and any real mud. I've done cleghorn 2-3 times but never in the mud. Though I did just upgrade my tires which will make a difference I'm sure.

Any thoughts from someone who has been up there in the rain?

You will be fine on the fire road. Most off shoots starts with an inclines so if you want to try it, but cannot make it, gravity will help you back down.

Whatever you do just don't go in the skull and crossbones trail of you are a 2wd. It's marked by a rock.

Nilda and I are in!

There won't be any real mud on the fire road, just less dust and better traction
