Question: Do we have to pool all the purchase money and pay at once or can we pay individually.  I guess in other words how is payment taken care of, is it a true group buy or a discount if bought in conjunction with our status with this group/club.

Great questions and I'm not sure.

I am leaning towards paying individually. However, I'm not sure how the deposit thing would work with them since most if not all of us seem to be paying cash. And for the cash payment, they said that is payable upon pick up. Which if that is the case (paying cash on pickup), it seems that we would have to pool the purchase money together to bring upon pickup.

As I mentioned earlier, I have never lead the charge on a Group Buy, so I am open to input and feedback on the best way to go about it.

The biggest snafu seems to be the alluring cash price discount, and having to pay cash at the time of pick up.

Thoughts?

Perhaps we could do a scheduled pick time/date and have a person/group come from LA areas and one from SD then disperse the goods locally.  I wondered about mentioning this on the other main forum, but its probably best to keep it simple.

This ends up being a great deal if you look at the discount plus not paying shipping, I feel fortunate.

I thought about posting something in that other forum as well, but like you said, I think simpler/smaller the better. Less people to back out last minute. I sent over the email to Natalie with the questions that i posted earlier today. She is usually pretty quick to get back to me. I told her that we will most likely close the group buy at the end of April, so that gives people 9 more days to see the thread and decide if they want in.

As soon as I hear back from her, I will post her reply here and on page one, in the first post.

Eliminate question #1, because that ventures into asking for additional discounts. We all have to pay The Governor...



Just my .02, but think like a business owner and you'll gain cred in the GB world.

Arranging a group deposit is easier, that way it shows your serious about the "group" part.

Individual payments leaves room for last minute "pull outs" and unless this is your first girlfriend, avoid this potentially hazardous practice.

Individual pick up is advisable, because once paid for in the "group" delivery/pick up should fall on the individuals responsibility...that way no one is trying to drive everywhere to pick up product. Plus, you get to meet the vendor/representative and thank them personally for the great deal you just scored...again building a relationship/street/forum cred.

I have heard back regarding the questions, I will paste her answers in bold, and red.

Ok guys, here are a list of questions I have drafted. Please read them and let me know if you have any other questions you would like me to ask. I am not going to ask for any further discounts.

1. Does the price shown on the site include tax?
  No, the price does not include tax.

2. For the cash orders, is there a deposit required? If so, what form of payment, and when?
We do not require a deposit for the cash orders.

3. Turnaround time, safe to assume the standard 4-6 weeks as listed on your site?
Our sliders are on a made to order basis and our current lead time to complete a set is around 4-6 weeks from the time the order is received.

4. It looks like most of us have opted for no Powder Coat, does that reduce the time for them to be ready for pick up?
The lead time for bare metal sliders is around 4-5 weeks from the time the order is received to complete a set.

I will update the first post on page one with this information as well.
