Ridiculous. I can't wait for the overland trend to be over and put the exploring back in the hands of the people that actually care, like the great people on this forum.  People that don't care about the environment need to sell their $15k trailers and stick to staying at the local HoJo.

I'm afraid we might be ice skating in "you know where" before that trend dies...and the reality is, this is the exact fuel that enviro-nazi's look for when public land discussions come to the forefront.

Spin over to the Tread Lightly or Blue Ribbon Coalition's websites if you want to help "fight the good fight..."  Same with CAL4Wheel, and Red Rock 4Wheelers.

I'm just gonna throw down the gauntlet and say it...put your money where your passion is and join one of these fine organizations (most have cool stickers) and get involved...or shut up and watch your public lands closed as fine f*ckt*rds like those tracking across the racetrack in the link above try to kill what you love!

I've been member of CAL4Wheel and Tread Lightly for a few years now, and have also joined IMBA (International Mountain Biking Assocation) and the STC (Sustainable Trails Coaliton) to support my personal pedal efforts.

(steps off soap box)

We now return you to your regularly scheduled forum programming... ;)

Good suggestion John, I follow CORVA on FB and they frequently post good information about all things off-road. However, I think I still take a look at joining TL or something similar.

There are numerous ways to get into DVNP without ever seeing a ranger or booth.  And those are following designated routes and semi-graded roads.

Hey guys. Just thought I'd say hello. I'm the one who wrote that blog post, and I also drive an Xterra here in SoCal.

Welcome to the forum Kurt! Thanks for writing the blog post and sharing the info you had. As you can see, we were all quite irked at the situation as well. Any updates on the possible suspect? Last I had read, they thought they'd identified someone, but I didn't hear much more after that.

Tell us a little more about your X, and where you're located here in So Cal. We've almost always got something going on that would be worth coming along for, and we're always looking for fun people to hang out with :)

Edit - I just noticed that you've actually been on the forum for quite some time. Your X is sweet and your photography looks amazing. 8)
