HAHHAHHA, local Borrego Brothel and Bar?
Dec 7, 2012 - San Diego Union Tribune:
BORREGO SPRINGS — State authorities have suspended the alcohol license of a Borrego Springs restaurant after an undercover investigation revealed employees selling drugs from the premises, the Sheriff’s Department said Friday.
Carlee’s Place, on Palm Canyon Drive, cannot sell alcohol or allow the consumption of alcohol for 18 days. The eatery has also been placed on probation for the next three years by the state Alcoholic Beverage Control.
A sheriff’s drug task force and the ABC teamed up for a three-month investigation in which undercover agents bought drugs from employees there, officials said.
Authorities didn’t release any further details about the investigation, including what type of drugs were allegedly sold.
The owner, Andrew Macuga, said the two employees involved were fired after the investigation.
“It’s unfortunate that even though it was done without my or my wife’s knowledge, we have to pay the price,” Macuga said. “It’s a warning for ourselves and other employees to keep a closer eye on what’s going on.”
The sting was partially funded by state grant money.
