Trying to gauge interest for camping trip out to the Goat Canyon Trestle
What about weekend of Dec 9-10, go out Saturday and get some dirt on the trucks, then camp and Sunday morning those that want to can join on bike ride through the tunnels to the trestle.  There are plenty of off-road trails in the area, those not interested in biking can always hang at camp and/or find another trail to flex the suspension a wee bit.

Other suggestions for dates? For me personally, if not 12/9 then January of February next year.

 I think Dec 9/10 sounds great to me. I'll pass on the bike riding and can hang out in camp or go wheeling with others if they want to.

I'm in for camping and the bike ride    Full disclosure: my riding skill level is extremely amateur rookie green level     But I have a hard-tailed Specialized Hard Rock, and I need to get the tires dirty anyway. As long as you guys don't mind me huffing and puffing along trying to keep up.

Long Beach is faaaaaaaar from most of the runs down in SD County.

If you know of any good off-roading trails in the Long Beach area, post up a run. As RBDuffer says - if you host it, they will come (at least, I think he said that. Maybe he just implied it. I don't really remember anymore).  I kid, I kid. I know there isn't much to do in the LA basin. I'm fortunate to live closer to most of the fun spots related to this hobby, but it's still a pretty long haul to get to some of the better places.

On a serious note though - this is an overnight trip. Shouldn't really matter that much that it's an extra hour and 15 minutes of driving each way for you than it is for me
