Impromptu run time!  Sorry for short notice!

This afternoon, Luke and I are going to run up Black Mountain near Ramona, and do a ham radio Summits On The Air activation.

Summits On The Air info is here, and here is the info for Black Mountain.


  • Name:  Ramona Black Mountain Run/Summits On The Air Activation
  • When:  Sunday 26 November 2017, meet time 1245, leave at 1300
  • Where:  Meet at 21885-21895 Pamo Rd, Ramona, CA 92065 https://goo.gl/maps/QDkTfnmrUWm
  • Comms:  Ham 146.535 MHz
  • What:  Easy run up Black Mountain near Ramona, short hike to the summit, then 30-60 mins. attempting to do a SOTA activation

i love impromptu stuff, but just can't make it this time.

Yeah, that was a nice afternoon.  Nice run up and back.  Saw a couple at the top in a Frontier. 

We got contacts with hams in Oceanside, Julian, Claremont, and Mount San Jacinto.  Plus we got one in Fallbrook, so you could have reached me, Randy!  Interesting thing is, I can only activate a summit once a year.  So that'll force the next time to be somewhere else.

Plus, I'll try to think ahead more.
