Fortunately, my BiL is a realtor and his wife works at a mortgage company, so the process was relatively painless. Property taxes are also relatively low in the area, but they make up for that by charging "specials" to take care of infrastructure.

That's exactly what I'm hoping for, a place to plant some roots. Growing up in the Air Force, I've moved my entire life. I'm hoping this will be a more permanent home.

Well, it's official, we left California on Saturday. I made it up to NoDak today. I can't thank you all enough for welcoming me into SCCX, you all will truly be missed. I've made lifelong friends because of this group. If you're ever up north, look me up or if you want to go wheeling, we'll hit the Iron Range. I'm not gone from the forum, though.
