I hope you guys are having a fun and safe time today. Wish I could've come because I'd really like to meet some local X'ers, but for those of us who missed this one, we're having a run on 11/27 up Cleghorn off I-15 north of Rancho Cucamonga. I've missed every single run I tried to get to this year (new baby, new house, new business..... translation: "busy as hell and totally distracted"), so I'm excited about this one. All the rain should make the trail plenty fun!

Anyway, I'll meet you guys sooner or later I'm sure.

:)

Mud or no mud, have fun out there today. I'm off to Hesperia to pick up a military trailer I bought off of Graig's List.
Lucky.  What did you find?  M101 or M416?

After getting it home and doing some research it appears to be a 1948 Bantam T3-C. The C stands for civilian. It a cool trailer none the less and will be perfect for hauling my prospecting equipment. I will post some pictures soon.

I had a blast out there today.  The rock slides were interesting, the pie was tasty, the night run through the desert to the calcite mine was wicked cool.  Thanks to everyone who showed up to make it one of the best days ever!
I'd rather be happy than right any day.

I had a great time today, thanks to everyone who showed up. I got to see some old friends and meet some new ones.  The weather was perfect, with great skies for photos.  We even stopped to check out some art (sabre tooth tigers and horses). We left the Visitor Center with 9 Xterras, and 2 more showed up later in the day.

The full moon was rising as I was driving home. I stopped to get some shots of the moon over the desert at Buttes Pass Road, then took off out 78 to S-2.  As I was driving on S-2 I looked over the left and saw something I've never seen before, or even heard of - a rainbow produced by the light of the moon. To my eyes it looked pretty much white, but you could clearly see the entire arch. I stopped a couple of times to try to get a photo. It was raining and really windy. The first attempt didn't work at all, the second one it was barely visible, but when I lightened it up a bit on the computer you tell it really was a rainbow, and even see a bit of color. I'll try to put up a picture of it.

I'm thinking of 17 Palms Oasis and the sandy washes between there and Font's Point for December. That makes for a nice day trip, with the possibility of a great sunset view from Font's.

That sounds  awesome. How about posting some pictures for us?

That was an amazing run, thanks Frank for leading and showing us the canyon (and the pie!).  It was great meeting everyone.
Flying through Ocotillo Wells was wild fun, and Calcite was just an awesome trail (minus my wheelspin!). A rear locker is going onto the future mod list.
