Here are some of my pictures from Saturday. All of the Xterras met in San Diego, and as we passed through Ramona a black Jeep (Dave H.) pulled into line with us. After a quick stop at the Julian Pie Company in Santa Ysabel we were on our way through Ranchita and down the Montezuma Grade. The rain stopped before we started down the hill, and the view from the overlook was nice, with only light wind this time.
This wound up being the whole group: me in the lead, followed by John, Justin, Zach, Dave, Mark, and Matt - along with assorted family and friends. No one showed up at the actual meet spot. We got some great views driving down the grade.
While we hung out at the Arroyo Salado meet spot Dave made a few minor adjustments to his Jeep. (Well, I don't know if they were really minor - I base that on the size of the hammer used, figuring if they were major adjustments he would have used a BFH.)
Ready to roll - next stop: 17 Palms Oasis.
I was surprised at how few people we saw all day. It was nice to have the oasis to ourselves.
From 17 Palms we drove over to the Pumpkin Patch, in the Ocotillo Wells SRVA.
On the way out we stopped for a picture in that cool, windy little wash that connects Arroyo Salado to Tule Wash.
You couldn't have asked for better weather, especially for taking photos.
