We had a great time today. Thanks to everyone who showed up and made it a fun day.  4 Xterras, a Frontier and 2 Jeeps.  We hiked up to the old Marshal South homesite, and afterwards found a nice lunch spot at a place we've stopped before. After lunch we hiked out to the Pictorgraphs, and this time we went on to the actual end of that trail, which has to be, I think, one of the most spectacular views in all of Anza Borrego. Towards the end of the day we did the final hike out to the Morteros.

On the way back towards San Diego we took a little detour on Black Canyon Road, and checked out the great views from that 10 mile long, mostly unpaved, mostly shelf road that connects Mesa Grande to Ramona.

The weather was great too.

I probably won't get pictures up until tomorrow.

Thanks SCCX and Frank for a fun afternoon. I had a great time checking out the sites and not worrying about where the caches are located. Funny that our pucker times happened after the run was over in Mesa Grande. And in honor of that road I put  a few links of a few cool trails.

I posted a Youtube Link to Schofield Pass in Colorado right next to Crested Butte- this is a shelf road that many offroaders have died on. The link after that is for Black Bear which is pretty looks scary too.

This link is a great video of the ribbon cutting for the 4x4 Training Course at TDS in Ocotillo Wells SVRA. The ribbon cutting coincided with the annual Desert Safari. I highly recommend attending this carnival like event at least once in your life.

Thanks again Frank!  Another great day in the desert.  This was more time hiking than wheeling, but it was a fun way to enjoy a great weather day getting to know the attractions in Anza Borrego and getting to meet more members and there friends.

Here's a great view from the trails' end beyond the Pictorgraphs...

I've updated my profile to include a Website Link to my "Four Wheeling in San Diego County" Gallery.  I'll add images as I get out and enjoy this vast playground!  Enjoy and leave comments as you wish...

Sorry Hennie, you're absolutely right. My math skills really do suck . . . you would never know my degree is in Accounting.

Frank, that Black canyon was wild.....

I found allot of good info on Marshal.  What they did for money. I even found a pic of the whole house. It was a lot bigger then we thought. It even had running water.

When i get some down time, I will play with some of the pics.

Sure going to miss the closeness of wheeling
